Sakarun

Sakarun Veli Rat, Dugi otok, Croatia

Sakarun, one of the most famous beaches in Zadar County, is located on the northwest coast of Dugi otok.

Near the beach are Veli rat, Verunic, Soline and Bozava. It has gained its reputation with the whiteness of the sand and the purity of the sea, and is surrounded by a pine forest that provides a welcome shade in summer. It is about 800 meters long, and at 250 meters from the shore the depth is 3.5 meters, which means that the bathing area is extremely large and shallow, and suitable even for small children. On the beach there are two restaurants that offer refreshments from the summer heat and light meals. Transport to Sakarun from Božava is also organized, by a tourist train that departs every two hours.
